M.F. McHugh Education Centre
M.F. McHugh Education Centre provides educational programs and services to students who are in Care and/or Treatment, Custody and Correctional Facilities through funding provided by the Ministry of Education under Section 23 of the Grants for Student Needs, in partnership with the Ministry of Community and Social Services, Ministry of Children and Youth and Ministry of Health. The Ottawa Catholic School Board is the lead board in the coordination and administration of McHugh.
The focus of Section 23 programs is to provide education for students whose circumstances or needs are such that they are unable to attend their community school.
This partnership allows the student to continue with an educational experience while they receive the treatment deemed necessary.
The education, care, treatment, custodial or correctional components of the Centre are delivered in partnership with the following treatment agencies:
* Children's Aid Society of Ottawa-Carleton
* Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario
* Crossroads Children's Centre
* Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre
* Roberts/Smart Centre
* Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre
* Youth Services Bureau
