The song was originally performed by Cyndi Lauper in 1986, and was most recently re-recorded as an anthem for anti-bullying initiatives.

Dr. F.J. McDonald Catholic School held an international lunch on Wednesday, April 24th featuring delicious food and cultural presentations from around the world. Students dressed in beautiful costumes and sang songs from their native countries. Some of the countries that were represented were Rwanda, Phillipines, Peru, Congo, Eritrea, Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti, Lebanon, Poland, Ethiopia, India, New Zealand, Guatemala, Holland, South Sudan, Nigeria, and of course - Canada!  

Everyone had a great time at the event and learned about different cultures. Well done Dr. F.J. McDonald!

Traci Stork Clark, a mother of a grade 4 student at St.Patrick School in Barrhaven was touched when her son's school came together to show their support for her son by increasing awareness of Autism in the month of April. This past winter, her son was diagnosed with being on the Autism spectrum. The caring community at St. Patrick School jumped to action to support her son and help students learn about Autism. During the month of April, they organized a series of activities for Autism awareness. "It really helped my son understand that he was not alone and that there are other kids like him" said Traci.

The Catholic School Parents' Association (CSPA), in collaboration with the St. Peter, St. Mathew and Lester B. Pearson families of schools, is hosting Math Workshops for Parents (JK-grade 12) on April 3, to be held at St. Peter High School in Orleans. Learn more about how math is taught today in classrooms and how you can support your child's learning. Two workshops will be offered on this evening at the same time.
