FINANCIAL PLANNING

Tuition fees across Canada vary from university to university, from province to province and also from program to program. Generally degrees in professional schools like law, medicine and MBA will cost more. Also Canadian graduate studies tend to be more costly than undergraduate studies. Tuition fees are however only one expense in your Canadian university education.

Students should get information on the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). This program is designed to help you cover the cost of your post-secondary studies. OSAP booklets are available in Student Services or online at  http://osap.gov.on.ca/

SCHOLARSHIPS/BURSARIES

UNIVERSITY/COLLEGE OUTSIDE ONTARIO

·        Canada (outside Ontario) you will need to contact the appropriate Admissions office to obtain an application (use university websites to link to application procedures). The school will complete all necessary academic information as requested. You are responsible for making sure that the university/college you wish to attend receives a copy of your final marks (semester one and semester two). The school only if requested by the student will forward complete transcripts. This is not done automatically.  NOTE: The deadlines vary greatly from university to university, so do your research now.

·        In the United States - students applying to these universities/colleges will have to follow the same procedures as above. In addition, you must see a guidance counselor to arrange to write the S.A.T. or other appropriate "Entrance Test". There are specific times to write these tests so again apply early.
